Liu Xiaodong is a Chinese painter, known for his large-scale compositions. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing (1988, 1995) where he is currently a professor. He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Complutense University of Madrid. Most of his paintings are figurative compositions in which he depicts the modern man.
