Magdalena Bautsch is a Polish abstract painter. She graduated from the School of Theatre and Film Characterisation in Gdańsk. She has completed courses in make-up, characterisation and photography. She has extensive experience as a make-up artist, assistant on film sets and numerous photo shoots. After working in this profession for 10 years, she left for Spain, where her steps turned to art. Returning to her youthful dreams and passions, she began a new professional path there as a painter.

Her abstract artistic style is a conscious choice that stems from her personal philosophy that everything around us is a form of illusion. ‘What I see and perceive in a certain way will be completely different for you. I choose elements from the physical world that I observe - I capture their colour palette, associations, emotions, and my imagination creates a whole new interpretation that I translate onto canvas.’

She draws her inspiration mainly from nature, the luscious colours of flowers, fruit, colourful birds and the surroundings of picturesque Spain, where she currently creates. Her paintings are notable for their bold use of colour, geometric forms and distinctive texture. She creates abstract compositions with a dynamic centre and a structured, darker background that acts as a kind of frame.

For the artist, the creative process is about playing and playing with colour. Combining strong, contrasting colours, she creates works that are meant to be beautiful and evoke positive emotions, as well as stimulate the viewer's imagination. For her, creating is both a form of play and a space for personal growth and pushing one's limits.

In 2022, her works, including ‘Sunset Zebras’, were exhibited in a group exhibition of young artists at the Berlin Gallery.

She is currently working on new projects in her distinctive style and also on making her presence felt in the art community in Spain, mainly in the Malaga and Marbella area where she works today. In the long term, she wants to reach out to collectors all over the world by building her personal brand online as well.
