Magdalena Rybak learned drawing and sensitivity to light under the tutelage of Piotr Zawadzki, founder of the Warsaw drawing school 'Horyzont'. Rybak is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), having completed both her diploma works, on garden sculpture, at the Department of Art under Prof. Sławomir Kolo and Prof. Jan Rylke. For more than 10 years, she has been creating in the unique batik technique, gaining initial experience at the Warsaw 'Art Warehouse' and continuing her education at individual classes with Izabela Zalewska-Kantek. She is also a member of the international Batik Guild based in the UK (The Batik Guild) and is listed among artists from around the world on the website promoting 2024/25 as the Year of Batik. She has taken part in two exhibition installments, "Whisperers, Demons, and Slavs" 2022/23 and "De Copernicus" in 2023 She is most keen to shift her perspective on Warsaw in her work, creating a non-obvious series of views entitled "It's also Warsaw!". The motto she came up with, according to which she selects the frames of her works, is: I see beauty where you don't expect it.
