Maria Pinińska-Bereś was a Polish artist. Between 1950 and 1956, she studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, in the Studio of Xawery Dunikowski. From 1979 she was a member of the Cracow Group. In the 1960s the artist participated in Tadeusz Kantor's happenings. Pinińska-Bereś is often considered a precursor of feminist art in Poland. She was associated with the artistic milieu of Kraków, where she lived and worked.
