Paolo Uccello was an Italian painter of the Renaissance period. His compositions focused on problems of perspective. He studied with the Florentine master Lorezno Ghiberti. He worked in Venice as a designer of mosaics (1425-30). A pioneer in the study of linear perspective, he executed large fresco commissions using this technique for a variety of purposes.
