Rafał Strent is a Polish painter and graphic artist. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He obtained his diploma in 1972 in the atelier of Professor Aleksander Kobzdej and also did an annex in artistic graphics under Professor Halina Chrostowska. Before 1989, he was chairman of the Solidarity Trade Union at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. From 1990 to 1996 he served as dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts. He held the position of full professor until 2013, after which he retired.
He is the author of approximately 80 solo exhibitions at home and abroad and a participant in approximately 350 group exhibitions. He has received numerous artistic prizes and awards, including the Musée 2000 in Luxembourg, the Grand Prix of Contemporary Art in Monte Carlo, the International Biennale of Graphic Arts in Vienna. He has been awarded the Silver and Gold Medal for 'Merit to Culture Gloria Artis'.
