Rosso Fiorentino was an Italian artist brought by Francis I to his royal residence at Fontainebleau. Between 1534 and 1540 he decorated the so-called Gallery of François there and headed the decorators' workshop until his death. A representative of early Florentine Mannerism. Ross's style contributed to the first Fontainebleau school.
