Sandro Boticelli (b.1445 Florence - d.1510 Florence) | 1560

Sandro Boticelli was a Florentine painter of the Quattrocento and the Renaissance. His teachers included Fra Filip Lippi and Andrea del Verrocchio. From 1470 he had his own workshop, and the Medici family took him under their patronage. The most important features of his painting are pure colours and precision of drawing. Botticelli's works are in the most significant galleries in the world (Uffizi Gallery in Florence, National Gallery in London, Old Pinakothek in Munich).
