Sylwester Gałaszewski is a Polish self-taught artist - painter and draughtsman. He has been passionate about painting since childhood, educating himself in this area outside his main professional path – the artist is a graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology. Human being is the most frequent motif in his works. In his works Gałaszewski focuses on building emotional tension, experiments with color and space. He creates most often with oil paints or dry pastels. His works are in many private collections in Europe, including Italy, Spain, the Canary Islands, Austria, France, and the United Kingdom. In Poland, his paintings have been exhibited at the Triada gallery in Gdansk.
