Tomasz Ciecierski is a Polish painter, and author of drawings, collages and photographs. He graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In the years 1972-85, he was a lecturer at his alma mater. In 1999, he was awarded the Jan Cybis Prize. Ciecierski's works have been exhibited many times at home and abroad, and have taken part in prestigious international art shows Painting Festivals in Cagnes-sur-Mer (1982, 1984), the São Paulo Biennale (1987, 1994) and Documenta in Kassel (1992). Often, he constructs his works from separate canvases or sheets of paper, from which he assembles larger wholes.
