Władysław Wankie was a Polish painter and art critic. He received his artistic education in the Drawing Class in Warsaw under Wojciech Gerson and in the School of Fine Arts in Krakow. During his career, he most often painted landscapes, genre, religious and symbolic scenes. Together with Kasper Żelechowski and Teodor Axentowicz (among others), he painted the largest panoramic painting ever created in Poland. The composition titled "Panorama of the Tatra Mountains" presented the view from Miedziana and was lost without a trace during the First World War.
