Yoshitomo Nara is a Japanese artist. In 1987, he graduated with a master's degree from Aichi University of the Arts. In 1988, he moved to Germany and enrolled at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He has had almost 40 solo exhibitions and his work has been included in MoMA and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He is known for his memorable portraits of children, which 'intensely' stare at the viewer.
