The work was made by Franciszek Starowieyski (1930-2009) in 1984, dated 300 years back. In the central place, at the bottom, the artist's handwritten signature with the date 1684, on the left hand side handwritten notes with telephone numbers. The contemporary frame is perfectly chosen. The whole measures 41 × 31 cm, inside the passe-partout 29 × 20.5 cm. In Starowieyski's paintings the real world merged with the creations of his almost "unrestrained" imagination, and his work ostentatiously referred to the old 17th century masters and was saturated with grotesque and humour. After his death, his works are highly sought after and their value continues to rise, so it is a very good investment of capital. In 2006 Franciszek Starowieyski saw the work in person and gave explanations concerning the visible telephone numbers. When asked to confirm its authenticity, he replied that he had already signed it once.
