Collector's podstaknik made of silver of fineness 84 in the Moscow goldsmith's workshop Николай Эверев / Nikolai Zwerew in the years 1898-1908. Podstakannik with the most desirable decor on the collector's market, the so-called "Troika". Plaque depicting a couple of people on a cart pulled by three horses, a motif particularly liked by artists in Russia. The scene is full of expression, movement, horses, especially the leading trotter, seem to be alive in their rush. The upper and lower edge is decorated with an openwork motif, the so-called folk art nouveau, the interior originally gilded. The podstakannik is exceptionally large, heavy and unique on the antiquarian market. Height 13 cm, diameter of the base 9.5 cm, weight 230 grams! (comparable substatus weighs approx. 100 grams). In three places you can see the Moscow hallmarks used in 1898-1908 and the workshop mark of the goldsmith's master in the form of a monogram НЭ - Николай Эверев / Nikolai Zwerew operating in the years 1898-1914. Excellent general condition, natural patina of time preserved!
