


A top-notch magnificent Louis XV-style secretary made around 1860 in the Louis Grade workshop. Stylistically Louis XV's focus on beauty, comfort and convenience is reflected in this piece of furniture. The cabriole legs, are curved, on which the entire secretary's chest is supported. The form is typical of the style with curved surfaces curving in all directions. The entire piece is veneered with the utmost craftsmanship and attention to detail with decorative marquetry in floral motifs in rosewood, walnut, chequered wood and rosewood. Under the tilting top lined with natural leather, there are drawers and a deep niche hidden under the sliding wooden top. The applied lock on the top with the name of the ebenist L.GRADE / Rue de la Paix 23. On the sides four decorative bronzes which are stylized Putt heads. All bronzes throughout were originally gilded. Height 94 cm, height to top 71 cm, width 76 cm, depth 45 cm. Very good state of preservation, a piece of furniture after professional, conservative conservation.
