


A beautiful salt cellar made in 1847, from sterling silver, in the goldsmith's workshop Берквист Элиас (Berkqvist Elias), in Saint Petersburg. The goldsmith's workshop Берквист Элиас was active in the years 1847 - 1883. The salt cellar in a form of a deep bowl, set on an octagonal stepped foot. The curved wavy rim, decorated with rocaille motifs. The interior is original and richly gilded. Weight : 48 grams. Height : 47 mm. Width : 103 x 86 mm. On the rim, Russian (Saint Petersburg) hallmarks for sample 84 silver, goldsmith's workshop mark FB (Берквист Элиас), and date of making (1847). Preservation condition of over 150 years old saltire very good, visible micro scratches, negligible traces of use.
