Located in Moscow, 11th Artel operated from 1908 to 1917, and the group specialized in producing top-quality services for the largest jewelry houses in Russia. 11th Artel worked primarily with the cloisonné enameling technique, but also produced high quality plique-a-jour enamels. Artel soon became known for creating works of exquisite style and the finest goldsmithing craftsmanship, resulting in the group becoming a major supplier to the prestigious house of Fabergé. The works of 11 Artel can be recognized by stylistic features such as total enamel coverage, Art Nouveau influences with triangular and rectangular enamel cells, volutes, spirals, silver beads, green, ochre, purple and cream hues in misty watercolor.
