Louis Gradé was a French craftsman and furniture designer who gained recognition in the 19th century. He began his career in 1852 in Paris at 9 Rue Caste, and by 1856, he had opened a shop at 23 Rue de la Paix. His work was known for its craftsmanship and elegant style, earning him several awards. In 1851, he received an honor at the Great Exhibition in London, and six years later, in 1856, he was awarded at the 1867 World Exhibition in Paris. In 1886, he co-founded the prestigious Boulle School, an educational institution dedicated to the arts and crafts of furniture design. His work had a significant impact on the development of French craftsmanship and furniture design in the second half of the 19th century.
