Omega - Swiss manufacturer of luxury watches. The company is considered to have started in 1848, when Louis Brandt, then 23 years old, founded a small watchmaking company in the Swiss town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. The company is now one of the world's best-known brands. In 1984, the company officially changed its name to Omega SA and opened its museum in Biel/Bienne to the public. The company's watches were used, among others, by the British Royal Air Corps as early as 1917 and by NASA in 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission. Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932 and is the current timekeeper of the America's Cup yacht race.
