Porzellanfabrik Schumann & Schreider, Schwarzenhammer (Thierstein-Schwarzenhammer), Bavaria
Name
Porzellanfabrik Schumann & Schreider, Schwarzenhammer (Thierstein-Schwarzenhammer), Bavaria

The factory was founded in 1905 by Christoph Schumann and his father-in-law, Karl August Schreider. The aforementioned Schumann was the brother of Carl Schumann, the porcelain factory owner. The factory specialized in the manufacture of utilitarian dishes, decorated with the popular Strohblume (so-called straw pattern) and Zwiebelmuster (so-called onion pattern) designs. Little is known about the factory's fate- it was established that it employed 400 workers around 1940. The end of the factory came in 1984, when it began to go bankrupt. Complete bankruptcy was declared in 1986.
