The factory was founded by C. Walter in Stanowitz (today's Stanowice near Strzegom, now part of Strzegom) in 1873. From the very beginning, the company produced coffee and tea sets, tableware, vases and bowls for export. The company was very successful and was one of the first to offer health insurance to its employees. The factory was transformed into a corporation in 1913.
