Jan Młodożeniec is a Polish poster artist, painter, and graphic artist. In the years 1948-55, he studied at the Department of Graphic Arts and Poster Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of Henryk Tomaszewski. From 1953, he was associated with Centrala Wynajmu Filmów, producing outstanding works as one of the group of the Polish Poster School. Like other poster designers of the period, Młodożeniec was able to include in his works iconographic elements and stylistic features unacceptable in official art (deformation, metaphorical abbreviation, pessimism, etc.). He developed his own, universally recognizable style of poster, based on simplified drawing, the use of clearly defined contours and large areas of contrasting colors, which brought his works closer to folk art.
