"Battle", Karol Stobiecki, watercolour on paper with a personal dedication from the time of the 1939 September campaign. In the lower left corner a handwritten dedication "Karol Stobiecki Arcis sur Aube, To dear Jędrusi in a time of great and heavy events a souvenir on his name day 30. XI. 1939', which is a very personal dedication alluding to the Battle of Arcis sur Aubez 1814 in the Napoleonic Wars, where a Polish squadron of cavalrymen distinguished itself by great heroism. The painting measures 14 x 18.5 cm, the work itself measures 8 x 13.5 cm. On the reverse a handwritten, faintly legible inscription in pencil.
