Oil, emulsion, wax stained on cardboard. The work is framed in a double-sided glass (with a distance of 6 cm) and a wooden frame (showcase) creating an object, at the back there are catches. On the right, at the bottom of the work, there is a signature "gost '97". It is a fragment of the series: "Parkany". Henryk Gostyński (born 1960 Warsaw) In 1985, he graduated from the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He completed his diploma with honors in painting under prof. Jerzy Tchórzewski, from the graphic arts with prof. Zenon Januszewski. He works with painting, drawing, photography, and intermedia activities. Since 1985 he has been working at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, currently a full professor. Id 2010 he runs a Painting Studio for 2nd - 5th year students. In 2012, he founded an artistic formation: Experimental Science and Research Laboratory. He organized over twenty exhibitions and individual shows (the last one was entitled: Portraits-Camouflage 2016, and the Retrospective Exhibition of the Experimental Science and Research Laboratory "Rozbitców Sensu" in 2019); he took part in over forty collective exhibitions. He chaired nine speeches of the Experimental Science and Research Laboratory (including: Invasion of Pesky Animals; Penguin. Penguin; Father. Nun. Crucifix; Journey to the Center of the Earth; Medusa's Raft according to Theodore Gericault; There were three Spirits, and the Tiger was very angry.) In his works, Henryk Gostyński looks for his own, new vision of space, in connection with the questioning in the 20th century of the previous image of space understood as a container (statement from the exhibition catalog 2 B or Not 2 B. Faces of Drawing 2011). The artist further notes that: Painting or drawing currently does not consist in showing a specific event taking place within a previously designated area. The objects used do not exist on a given scene, but are supposed to suggest a specific concept of space, very often it is a multi-dimensional, variable space. The essence of artistic activities is crossing borders, striving to reach new areas or take into account new aspects. An example of such a creative strategy, it seems, can be the well-known series of large-format digital prints titled "Pornography", but also the series of painting objects "Parkany" from the early 90's. He organizes and co-organizes conferences and symposia devoted to artistic activities (the last one: Forbidden -? Rebellion against stereotypes in artistic attitudes 2016).
