The world premiere of 'Kusama - Infinity' took place on 21 January, during this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Writer, director and producer Heather Lenz has worked on a number of film and television productions and has also been responsible for research work for The History Channel or Food Network. During the festival, she debuted a biographical production about Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
The film tells the story of a woman who, as an artist, liberated herself from the limiting framework of the society among which she was raised; she overcame sexism, racism, as well as mental disorders and achieved her goal of becoming a total artist.
In the director's words: "When I started to become interested in the figure of Yayoi Kusama, it seemed to me that she was not properly appreciated in the American art community. I was extremely determined to tell her story, because the Japanese woman, despite her undoubted artistic success, is a very complex and at the same time inspiring person".
